Solar Panel Price in Pakistan Today

By the EGS team. Updated 30 October 2026. 8 min read.

Aiko N-type solar panel, one of the panel types in the Pakistan price table

If you are checking the solar panel price in Pakistan today for a shop, office, factory or a client project, you have probably noticed that two suppliers in the same market can quote different rates for what looks like the same panel. This page explains what those numbers mean, what moves them from week to week, and how to check that the panel you pay for is the panel you get. We refresh the price table every month.

Solar panel price in Pakistan today: rate table

Panel prices in Pakistan are quoted in two ways: per watt (PKR/W) and per panel. Per-watt is the fairer way to compare, because a 600 W panel and a 550 W panel should not cost the same.

Panel type Typical wattage class Price per watt (PKR) Price per panel (PKR)
Aiko ABC N-type back-contact 600 W and above Ask for today's price Ask for today's price
N-type TOPCon, Tier-1 brands 575 W to 620 W Ask for today's price Ask for today's price
N-type bifacial (double glass) 580 W to 620 W Ask for today's price Ask for today's price
Mono PERC (older P-type stock) 540 W to 560 W Ask for today's price Ask for today's price
B-grade panels (any technology) Varies Ask for today's price Ask for today's price

Prices change weekly. Ask for today's rate on WhatsApp.

Two notes on reading this table. First, a panel-only rate does not include the inverter, mounting structure, DC cable, breakers, earthing or your installer's labour. Second, the rate for a full pallet or container is lower than the rate for ten panels, so the price a factory buying 500 kW hears will not match a quote for a single shop roof. Freight to your city is quoted separately.

If you want the full system cost rather than panels alone, see our 10kW solar system price in Pakistan guide or try the solar calculator.

What moves solar panel prices in Pakistan

Almost every panel sold in Pakistan is imported, mostly from China. That means the local rate follows a handful of outside forces more than local demand.

The rupee-dollar rate

Importers pay suppliers in US dollars. When the rupee weakens, the per-watt rate across the country rises within days, even for stock already sitting in a warehouse. When the rupee is stable, prices usually settle.

Factory prices in China

Module prices at the factory depend on polysilicon and cell costs, and on how much stock Chinese makers are holding. Over the last few years, oversupply pushed global module prices down sharply. A small change at the factory shows up in Pakistan a few weeks later, once new shipments land.

Taxes and import rules

Federal budget decisions feed straight into the market price. The 2025–26 budget, for example, brought a sales tax on imported solar panels after a long debate over the rate (ARY News). Any change in duty, sales tax or customs valuation moves the per-watt rate for every brand at once.

Net billing and demand

Demand also matters. When NEPRA moved new rooftop solar users from net metering to net billing in February 2026, many buyers paused to work out the new payback (pv magazine). Slower demand tends to soften prices. A rush before a budget tends to push them up. Read our net metering in Pakistan guide for what changed.

Wattage and technology

Newer N-type panels (TOPCon, back-contact) usually cost more per panel than older P-type mono PERC stock. They also produce more units per square foot of roof and tend to lose less output in heat. With summer temperatures above 45 °C across much of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan, that matters.

A-grade vs B-grade solar panels

Every panel that leaves a factory is tested and sorted. The grade decides the price, and it is the single biggest reason two "600 W" quotes can be far apart.

What A-grade means

An A-grade panel has passed the manufacturer's final inspection with no visible defects, and its flash-tested output matches its label. It carries the manufacturer warranty and a serial number the manufacturer can trace.

What B-grade means

B-grade panels have a flaw. Some have cosmetic marks such as scratches on the frame, bubbles in the backsheet or uneven cell colour. Others produce less power than the label says, or have micro-cracks in the cells that may grow over time. Manufacturers sell these panels at a discount, often without the standard warranty.

Should a business ever buy B-grade?

For a small, non-critical setup where you accept the risk, B-grade can make sense. For a factory or office that has budgeted around a fixed payback period, it usually does not. A panel that loses output faster than expected eats into savings every month for 20 years or more.

A-grade B-grade
Visual defects None Possible (frame, glass, backsheet, cells)
Rated output Matches label within tolerance May be lower than label
Manufacturer warranty Yes Often limited or none
Traceable serial number Yes Not always
Price Market rate Discounted

How to avoid fake or relabelled solar panels

Pakistan's panel market is large, and some of that stock is relabelled, mixed-grade or simply not what the sticker says. These checks take ten minutes and can save you a lot more, especially on a bulk order.

Check the serial number with the manufacturer

Most major manufacturers let you verify a panel's serial number through their website, app or local representative. If the serial number is missing, scratched off, printed on a loose sticker or does not match the box, walk away.

Match the label to the datasheet

Read the rear label: wattage, open-circuit voltage (Voc), short-circuit current (Isc), dimensions and weight. Then compare these numbers with the official datasheet on the manufacturer's website. A "600 W" panel with the dimensions of a 450 W panel is a red flag.

Ask for the flash test report

Genuine A-grade panels are flash-tested at the factory, and a serious supplier can show the test data for the batch. If the seller has no idea what a flash test is, that tells you something.

Look at the build

Check that the frame is straight and evenly anodised, the junction box is firmly sealed, and the cables and MC4-type connectors are properly fitted. Look along the glass for cracks, chips or cloudy patches.

Buy from a supplier who will still be there in five years

A warranty is only as good as the company that has to process it. Ask who handles a manufacturer warranty claim, and get the purchase invoice with serial numbers listed.

Why the quote should list exact models

A quote that says "600 W A-grade panel" without a brand and model number leaves room for substitution. Ask for the exact model, the quantity and the total wattage in writing. Our quotes list every panel and inverter by model.

Solar panels EGS supplies across Pakistan

EGS is a solar equipment supplier. We sell Aiko solar panels, including Aiko's ABC back-contact modules, along with Sungrow inverters and Sigenergy SigenStack battery storage. We do not install. Your own installer or EPC contractor does that work.

Back-contact panels move the electrical contacts to the rear of the cell, so the front face has no busbars blocking sunlight. That design gives more output from the same roof area, which helps on city rooftops where water tanks, stairwells, exhaust fans and neighbouring buildings leave little clear space.

The panel is only part of the result. Dust, summer heat, winter fog and smog in Punjab, and humid, salty air on the coast all wear down systems that are poorly installed. Mounting structure quality, cable sizing, earthing and regular cleaning decide how much of a panel's rated output you actually see, so choose your installer as carefully as your panels.

How to compare two panel quotes

When you have two or three quotes in hand, line them up like this:

  • Per-watt rate, not per-panel rate.
  • Exact brand and model, with datasheet attached.
  • Grade stated in writing (A-grade).
  • Warranty: confirm it is the manufacturer warranty and ask how a claim is processed.
  • What is included: panels only, or panels with inverter, structure and cabling.
  • Stock and delivery: whether the panels are in stock, and what delivery to your city costs.
  • Rate validity: how many days the quoted price holds, especially if the rupee is moving.

If one quote is far below the others, ask why before you pay anything.

FAQ

What is the solar panel price in Pakistan today?

Rates move every week with the dollar, factory prices and taxes, so any fixed number on a website goes stale fast. Check the table above for the date of the last update, then message us on WhatsApp for today's per-watt rate on the panel you want.

Is price per watt or price per panel better for comparing?

Price per watt. It lets you compare panels of different sizes fairly. Multiply the per-watt rate by the panel's wattage to get the per-panel price.

Is the solar panel price the same in every city?

The per-watt rate follows the same import costs nationwide, but freight, handling and order size change the final figure. Tell us your city when you ask for a quote.

Are N-type panels worth the extra cost?

For most commercial and industrial roofs, yes. N-type panels such as TOPCon and back-contact designs generally lose less output in high heat and produce more units per square foot, which matters on small or shaded roofs.

How can I tell if a solar panel is fake?

Verify the serial number with the manufacturer, match the rear label to the official datasheet, check weight and dimensions, and ask for the flash test data. Missing or loose serial stickers are a warning sign.

Does EGS install the panels?

No. EGS supplies Aiko panels, Sungrow inverters and Sigenergy SigenStack storage. Your installer or EPC contractor handles installation, and we can share datasheets with them on request.

Do solar panel prices in Pakistan go down in winter?

Not reliably. Season has less effect than the exchange rate, factory prices and budget changes. Prices have dropped in some winters and risen in others.
