What is the Sigenergy SigenStack?
SigenStack is Sigenergy's modular battery for commercial and industrial sites. It is built from SigenStack BAT 12.0 modules, each a 12.06 kWh LiFePO4 pack, stacked floor-standing up to 7 modules high under a SigenStack BC battery controller.
One system takes 4 to 21 modules, which gives 48.24 kWh to 253 kWh. It runs on the Sigen Hybrid Inverter, three-phase, in 50, 60, 80, 100, 110 and 125 kW sizes. Sigenergy lists this inverter series as the compatible inverter for SigenStack.
DC coupling: solar and battery on one inverter
The Sigen Hybrid Inverter is battery ready. Your solar panels and the SigenStack battery connect to the same unit, so the site needs no separate PV inverter, data logger or AC combiner box.
Sigenergy states that this DC-coupled layout gives about 2% higher round-trip efficiency than an AC-coupled system, where solar power is converted to AC and back to DC before it reaches the battery. The inverter itself has a maximum efficiency of 98.6% at 380/400 V, up to 8 MPPTs, and supports up to 100 units in parallel without a data logger.
A site can also start with the inverter alone and add SigenStack modules later, since the inverter is sold battery ready.
Backup through load-shedding and generator hours
For a factory or cold store, a few seconds of outage can trip machines and spoil a batch. Sigenergy rates SigenStack at a 0 ms switchover, so loads see no interruption when the grid goes.
Motors draw several times their running current at start-up. SigenStack can deliver 150% of rated power for 10 seconds to start ACs, pumps and compressors. It supports on-grid and off-grid operation and works alongside a diesel generator, so the generator can cover long outages while the battery handles the switchover and peaks.

Safety in Pakistani conditions
SigenStack uses LiFePO4 cells, the lithium chemistry most used for stationary storage. Sigenergy lists 6 layers of pack-level safety, and each pack carries its own fire suppression system with aerosol, smoke sensor and exhaust.
The battery system is rated IP66 against dust and water jets, uses smart air cooling and has an operating range of -20°C to 55°C, which spans a northern winter and a plains summer, provided the battery room is ventilated as Sigenergy's manual requires. The Sigen Hybrid inverter is also IP66 and adds arc fault detection that Sigenergy rates at up to 500 m of cable, depending on site layout.
Sigenergy quotes a cell cycle life of 10,000 cycles. That is the cell maker's figure, tested at 25°C and a 0.5C rate down to 60% state of health.
